Passionate about food and entertaining? Ever wondered how the professionals make it look so easy? Learn the secrets to serving restaurant quality food to your friends from your kitchen at home with Eire Cafe. 

At Eire Cafe cooking demonstrations we will not only provide you with great simple-to-follow recipes but also help you develop the skills and techniques that set the professional Chefs apart from the passionate home cooks.  

Executive Chef Stephen Lowery has over 15 years of experience in professional kitchens from Europe to New Zealand and Australia.

Having graduated from the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology with qualifications in Professional Cookery (Specialising in French Cuisine) Stephen Lowery gained valuable chef experience in many of Galway’s finest hotels. He joined the Panel of Chefs of Ireland, successfully competing in national cooking competitions and rose to the ranks of Head Chef, at the tender age of 24.

So it is with a special blend of Irish tradition and French flare for creativity and turning food into art, that Stephen, set off to Australia to share his passion for food and to make his mark in the world of fine cuisine.

Upon settling first in Melbourne, the café capital of Australia, Stephen began working in popular restaurants and hotels and as fate would have it, met his now partner, an Aussie girl with close family ties in Adelaide, the city of festivals and fine food and wine.

So, with this vast experience in contemporary European and Australian cuisine, we can offer guidance to cooks of all levels.

Come along to one of our classes in pastry, advanced stocks and sauces, menu planning or let us tailor a lesson plan for you in any area of food that you wish to explore. This cooking class is a great way to meet new people and enjoy delicious gourmet food. 

Our next class is on basic soups and sauces including:

  • Red wine Jus
  • Hollandaise and derivative
  • Velouté
  • Béchamel
  • Mayonnaise and derivative
  • Soups- pumpkin, broth, chowders and more

Included with every lesson is a copy of the menu and recipes for you to take home, with hints and notes specific to your skill level. We provide everything you need. All you have to do is rock up and enjoy a fun night of cooking.  

This class is $50 per person, and will be held at 98 Springbank Road, Clapham.

All bookings are to be paid in full. 24 hour notice must be given for any cancellations or date changes. 

This makes for a great private function for a group of friends and can be custom designed to cover what ever you would like to learn.
